Who is eligible for free entry at the Last Supper?

Admission to state museums, monuments, galleries, and archaeological sites in Italy is free for all citizens of the European Union under the age of 18.
Please note that reservations are always required for entry to the Last Supper Museum (Cenacolo), regardless of ticket type, including free and reduced tickets.

Free admission is also granted to:

Non-EU minors from countries “on the basis of reciprocity” (note that children under 12 must be accompanied). Currently, reciprocal agreements exist with: Switzerland, countries of the European Economic Area (Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein), and Uruguay.
- Persons with disabilities, along with one family member or another companion who is part of social or health care services.
- EU tourist guides performing their professional duties, upon presentation of a valid license issued by the appropriate authority.
- EU interpreters when their assistance is required alongside a guide, upon presentation of a valid license issued by the appropriate authority.
- Journalists with valid press credentials and proof of paid membership in a professional association.
- Student groups from public and private schools within the European Union, accompanied by their teachers, with prior booking and within the established group size limits.
- Certified teachers (either permanent or on fixed-term contracts) working in Italian schools, upon presentation of a certificate issued by the school, using the template available on the Ministry of Education (MIUR) website.
- High school art history teachers, with appropriate documentation.
- Teachers and students enrolled in Fine Arts Academies or equivalent institutions in the EU, with a valid enrollment certificate for the current academic year.
- Teachers and students enrolled in undergraduate, postgraduate, or PhD programs in the following fields: architecture, cultural heritage conservation, education sciences, or literature and philosophy with an archaeological or art-history focus. These same benefits apply to faculty and students of equivalent faculties or courses in EU countries. Students must present a valid certificate of enrollment for the current academic year; teachers must present appropriate documentation.
- Students enrolled in advanced training courses of the Ministry’s Schools (Central Institute for Restoration, Opificio delle Pietre Dure, School for Mosaic Restoration).
- Visitors conducting studies or research, certified by schools, universities, academies, research institutes, cultural institutions (Italian or foreign), or by Ministry offices. The Museum Director may also grant free admission to the Last Supper Museum for a limited period based on specific, justified requests.Ministry of Culture staff.
- Members of ICOM (International Council of Museums).

In addition, the following individuals are entitled to free admission to state museums with an annual personalized ID card (with photo) issued by the General Directorate of Museums, for study, research, or specific justified reasons:
- Volunteers from associations operating under agreements with the Ministry’s local offices.
- Honorary Inspectors and Conservators of the Ministry.Military personnel from the Cultural Heritage Protection Unit.
- Members of ICCROM (International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property).
- Italian and foreign scholars conducting studies or research, certified by schools, universities, academies, research or cultural institutes, or by Ministry offices. The General Director may issue annual passes for free admission in justified cases.

Opening hours

The Last Supper opening hours are the same throughout the year, Tuesday to Sunday.

Museum: 8:15 AM to 7:00 PM

Ticket office: 8:00 AM to 6:45 PM

The last entrance to the Last Supper is 15 minutes before closing time.

The visit to the Last Supper is timed for preservation, so it will last 15 minutes.

The Last Supper is located inside Santa Maria delle Grazie church, in Piazza di Santa Maria delle Grazie, 2, 20123 Milano.

Entrance

The main entrance to the Museum is the one mentioned above. But before entering, you have to go through the ticketing kiosk, approximately 10 meters to the left of the main entrance, to have your IDs checked and to leave any luggage or big bags you might have.

Food

While the Last Supper is painted in a refectory, only painted figures are allowed to eat inside! But the Museum is in the center of Milan, so you will find plenty of opportunities to taste great food nearby.

Services

There are lockers to leave large bags and luggage, which are forbidden inside, as well as bathrooms, a bookshop, and multilingual leaflets to provide information to visitors.
